E is for Excellent!

Last week, my friend April of Abby Sweets, gave me a bloggy award. Before I even told her how much I appreciated it, she...

gave me another award. A "you make my day" award. Thank you April!

You made my day, my week, my month!!!
Thanks for reading my blog and being my friend.
I wish I had an appreciation award to give you!

To celebrate such a fun day, I made something that has been talking to me for weeks. Every since I saw these on Bakerella, I've lusted after these. Cake balls! Or for a better sounding treat, I like to call them Cake Bites! They were a must try! I used a confetti cake mix with the confetti white frosting. Half dipped in semi-sweet chocolate and half in white. I really like the semi sweet better then white chocolate, but, I thought they would be prettier dressed in white. I used the sprinkles that came with the frosting for the tops of the white ones.

These were excellent and made my day, just like my awards!

I would like to pass both these awards on to some people who I also love to read. They are regular reader's of my little 'ol blog and they're always there with a sweet comment.

Megan - those are too cute! Those might be fun for a kids birthday party instead of cupcakes. :)

These are cute. I always have scraps of cake in the freezer, from projects. Maybe I can turn them into little bites like this.

I got quite a surprise when I read your post! Thanks for choosing me for the awards :) Those cake bites look awesome! I never would have imagined making them with cake. I checked the recipe on Bakerella's site and saw that it used red velvet cake. However, your picture makes me want to use the funfetti cake kind. I bet you could do so much with the flavors!

Those cakes are so adorable with the confetti!

Thanks for dropping by my blog. Funny your hubby's family come from Portugal 'cause I was wondering about it when I saw 'pires' in your email address. It's a small world, indeed!

Ohhhh, I made these for a bbq we had on Memorial Day last year! They are SO good, and they don't last long. So easy to make, too. The confetti cake ones were my favorite. I also would love to do a lemon/chocolate version, and possibly a red velvet version, just need to figure out the logistics of it.
